Using the Fooling Structure created by Jonathan Kay the Nomadic Academy of Fools have been working on a production of Shakespeare’s Richard II, creating a dream-like performance without props or set and with all of the performers learning all of the script and playing all of the parts.
Half way through the process, the performers are presenting extracts from the full play with scratch performances in Glastonbury.
Scratch performances are a pioneering approach to developing new theatre work from its early stages in conversation with an audience, feeding directly into the overall shape of the play.
