Homeopathy The term homoeopathy comes from the Greek words homoeo, meaning ‘similar’, and pathos, meaning ‘suffering’ or ‘disease’. They work with the so-called ‘PRINCIPLE OF SIMILARITY’, which states that a given substance (in a homeopathic dose which is highly diluted and potentised) can treat the same symptoms that it produces or causes in a healthy person, thus helping to stimulate the body’s own natural healing capacity. Treatment in homoeopathy is individualized (tailored to each person). Homoeopathic practitioners select remedies according to a total picture of the patient, including not only symptoms but lifestyle, emotional and mental states, and other factors. |
